  • Azure Files provisioned v2 billing model for SSD (premium) — Azure Files has introduced the provisioned v2 billing model for the SSD (premium) tier, now generally available as of August 15, 2025. This model allows independent provisioning of storage, IOPS, and throughput for file shares.

  • Azure Databricks connector for Microsoft Power Platform — The Azure Databricks connector for Microsoft Power Platform is now generally available as of August 14, 2025. This release enables real-time data access between Azure Databricks and Power Apps without requiring data copies.

    • Supports real-time data access between Databricks and Power Apps

  • Azure Managed Instance for Apache Cassandra v5.0 — Azure Managed Instance for Apache Cassandra now supports Cassandra 5.0 in public preview as of August 13, 2025.
    • Cassandra 5.0 is available in Azure Managed Instance for Apache Cassandra.
    • Release is in public preview starting August 13, 2025.
    • Includes access to new Cassandra features such as improved performance and new indexing capabilities.
  • Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server in Malaysia West — Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server is now generally available in the Malaysia West Azure region as of August 13, 2025.
    • General availability of Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server in Malaysia West region
    • Applies to deployments starting August 13, 2025
  • Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB (vCore) encryption with customer-managed key — Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB (vCore) now supports encryption with customer-managed keys, in addition to existing service-managed key encryption. This feature is available in preview as of August 13, 2025.
    • Customer-managed key (CMK) encryption is now supported for Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB (vCore) clusters.
    • This feature is in preview as of August 13, 2025.
    • CMK adds an extra security layer beyond the default service-managed key (SMK) encryption.
  • Deployment resumption - Azure Automation revised Service and Subscription limits — Azure Automation will resume deployment of revised Service and Subscription limits starting August 11, 2025, following a temporary pause. The update aims to improve resource distribution, reliability, and performance.

  • Announcing Tenant-Level Service Health Alerts in Azure Monitor — Azure Monitor has introduced a preview feature for tenant-level service health alerts, allowing users to receive notifications about service health issues affecting their entire tenant.

    • Notifications cover issues impacting the whole tenant, not just individual subscriptions

  • Introducing Azure App Testing: Scalable End-to-end App Validation — Azure has released Azure App Testing in preview, allowing large-scale functional and performance testing for applications using frameworks such as Playwright, JMeter, and Locust.

    • Supports large-scale functional and performance tests.

  • General Available: App Service Inbound IPv6 Support — Azure App Service now offers general availability of inbound IPv6 support for multi-tenant apps across all public regions, covering Basic, Standard, Premium SKUs, Functions Consumption, Functions Elastic Premium, and Logic Apps Standard.
    • Inbound IPv6 support is now generally available for Azure App Service multi-tenant apps.

  • Upsert and Script Activity in Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics for Azure Database for PostgreSQL — Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics now support the Upsert method and Script activity for Azure Database for PostgreSQL, available generally as of August 11, 2025.
    • Upsert method is now generally available for Azure Database for PostgreSQL in Data Factory and Synapse Analytics.
    • Script activity support is also included in this release.
    • Enhancements allow more efficient and declarative data operations.
